AICENT HELPS IUSACELL PROVIDE DATA ROAMING IN CHINA IN TIME FOR OLYMPICS

Largest CDMA mobile operator in Mexico turns to Aicent to enable high-speed data roaming for subscribers visiting China

SAN JOSE, CALIF. - AUGUST 5, 2008- Aicent, Inc. (www.aicent.com) announced today that its CDMA Roaming eXchange (CRX) service is being used by Mexican mobile operator Iusacell to provide their subscribers CDMA-based data roaming in China in time for the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games.

"Iusacell is the only wireless cellular service provider in Mexico with a 3G CDMA EVDO platform which lets us offer our subscribers a wide range of telecommunications services, multimedia applications and data transmission," said Adrian Velasco, director of roaming at Iusacell. "Many Iusacell subscribers will be traveling to Beijing to cheer on the Mexican Olympic team, and it was important to us that while they travel in China they have access to the same services they have come to expect at home. Aicent's CRX service minimized our technical integration yet provided Iusacell the means to offer seamless international data roaming on CDMA networks for our subscribers, in time for the start of the Olympics on August 8."

With approximately 4 million subscribers, Iusacell has become one of Mexico's largest mobile telecommunications providers, and is the country's largest CDMA-based provider. Aicent's CDMA Roaming eXchange will enable data roaming onto China's largest CDMA network, operated by China Unicom. China Unicom's CDMA network spans all of China and Hong Kong.

Aicent's CRX offers mobile operators a highly-scalable solution to address roaming, authentication and network interconnectivity. Aicent's technology enables mobile operators to support rapidly growing mobile data services and an increasingly mobile user population that often needs to use services on the networks of more than one provider. Aicent's CRX is a cost-efficient solution that enables the CDMA operators to offer a high-performance worldwide data roaming service with secured private IP network infrastructure and a variety of application level support. Aicent, a pioneer in telecom and data roaming, played a major role in defining the industry's roaming architecture and requirements.

"A hallmark of Aicent eXchange services is the ease of deployment, insulating carriers and mobile operators from the complexities of international peering arrangements and interconnects," said Louie Abonador, Aicent senior director of sales for the CALA region. "With our extensive peering arrangements and interconnects, Aicent's eXchange services make it possible for any telecom operator to offer subscribers global roaming, as well as to create new revenue stream by opening their own networks for roaming by subscribers of other Aicent customers. In addition to China, Iusacell will be using Aicent CRX services to extend data roaming in other regions of the world."
