Aicent MMS Gateway Service Description

Single Connection

Aicent MMS Gateway Service provides a single point of connection for the following:

  • Single Network Connection via GRX/CRX network connection
  • Single Application connection via MM4 interface
  • Single Contract
  • Single Settlement/Billing Interface.

The Aicent MMS Gateway Service starts with a one-time connection setup between the operator’s MMSC and the Aicent MMS Gateway. The connection is established over an operator’s existing GRX link, conforming to the GSMA guidelines. Once the setup is complete, an operator's MMSC is instantly interoperable with all other MMSCs connected to the Aicent MMS Gateway, eliminating the need to spend lengthy engineering time building operator interoperability one-by-one, figuring out special implementation for each case, and going through the trouble of working with multiple MMSC vendors.

Message Flow

With the Aicent MMS Gateway service, an operator simply forwards the international-bound MMS messages to the Aicent MMS Gateway. Upon receiving the message, Aicent MMS Gateway does the following:

  • Queries a directory database to determine the correct recipient MMSC
  • Handles the message to ensure MM4 interoperability
  • Sends the message to the correct destination
  • Delivers message to operators that cannot yet be reached by MMS interworking with Aicent's patent pending Virtual Delivery (MMS-VD) feature
  • Generates the necessary CDRs according to the 3GPP standards and operator requirements

Operators who prefer to maintain selective bi-lateral or other third-party connections can remain in full control of the message routing paths.
